Texas Weather

Today in our tiny town it is cold. I hate the cold. The temp on my car reads 48, yesterday it was already 70 by now. Yesterday was a bit muggy but WARM, we could walk outside and feel relief from my penguins of co- workers. I just wanted to stand out there all day and enjoy the first ray of sunshine we have seen in weeks. It was nice all day. Then, last night after I put the kids to bed, watched a little bit of Grey's and walked outside with my guy, his dad and Jana. The night air was great. When the boys went into the house to grab another beer, the damn North wind came, then came the small rain, then came the storms, the came the cold ass morning. Now they say the high will be low 60's all week. GEEZ we live in Texas! The 60's are for summer mornings not the weekend high.

An old photograph

You just never know what is going to make you smile. A few months ago I went to pick up my Uncle and taxi him to the "W" He says look at what a lady gave me the other day. I was instantly laughing and smiling. Every time I went out to my moms we all looked at the pic and just talked and talked about it. I know 3 different times. We made copies and now each have our own.

The special thing about this picture is 2 of my uncles and my aunt passed away over 10 years ago. To see their faces on a happy outing for all of us is great. I was young when they all passed. I didn't know my cousin looked identical to his dad, I didn't know my niece looked so much like her granny, I didn't know my mom and uncles looked so much alike.

All of us kids do look homeless but I LOVE IT. It's great. I am the blondie with my hands in my mouth and the red jumper that should have already been passed down to the blonie (my middle sister) beside me.

It does make me sad to think what a great part of my kids life they would be if they were still around. I know my Aunt Rhonda would love her grandbabies and my kids, I know the My Uncle J.I. would promise my son $5 if he scratched his back and then never pay up. I know Uncle Red would be the greatest man the kids ever met and would spoil Payton and Bella like crazy. I am sad that the kids miss out on such great people.

Rain Rain Rain Rain

Last night when getting ready for bed the news was going nuts, tornado watch here severe thunderstorm watch there, small hail here and there. I was expecting to be woke up with pounding thunder again. Last week at 3 a.m. it stormed thunder everywhere, woke my 3 year old up and she was not happy all night or all the next day. ANYWAY last night was quiet and when getting ready this morning it was barely raining. I think it is supposed to stay like this all week. I wish I had pics to post but... I just didn't get the camera out this morning. Texas kinda has things backwards.... I have always heard, March winds bring April showers that bring May flowers. Well not here! My roses were blooming in March and I bet it didnt rain 5 drops in April but once May 1st got here it floods the streets. And its 90 in December. I love it here.

Today is a sad day

Today is a sad day for my little town, following a horrific accident on Saturday afternoon, a funeral is being held for a very young girl. She was the youngest of her 2 sisters, the baby of the family and from the pictures I have seen she was beautiful and happy.
I hope this family can work their way through this. I pray that although this is the hardest thing they will probably ever have to do, that their pain eases with time. I pray that they keep her close to their hearts with their fondest memories just in the back of their mind always.

SECURITY

This is my red headed daughter and my niece Charlii Rae. They have been hired by the little league association to work security at the tball games, to make sure no one gets out of hand of course.
I have to say this is my new favorite picture.

Completely different week....

This week has been a whole whole lot better. Started off with a game on Tuesday in which my son kicked some hiney along with his team mates. I know I know it's tball we don't keep score it's just for fun. And it is A LOT OF FUN I am not as competitive as Craig is (he keeps score the whole time in his head)
It makes me smile when I see Zachary before my eyes doing so great. I just see him as the future 1st base men on the Texas Rangers (that's the team he has been on the past 2 years) Just look at his natural stance. He also started sliding into home.

He also started sliding into home.

My little boy or big boy I guess is doing so great, I couldn't be more proud.

Not a good start to April

This past week has not been great.
Started off last Thursday we were at a t-ball practice and my mom says I think Emily has something on her new it looks like its festering, I say okay I'll look at it when we get home. We got home and in bed and it was a little fester. I took her to the Dr. on Friday got some antibiotics and took her to my mother in laws so I could go back to work. By the time I got off work she was running high fever and her knee had a mountain on it. The Dr. said if it had puss to squeeze it, so we did.
Saturday my sisters and Emily and I went shopping, she was limping but she was having herself a good ole time. We finally made it home and I soaked it and we had to squeeze it again. This time I made her daddy do it. He got the sticker out along with a pool of puss. He was convinced she had gan green (sp?) lol, so we were off to the ER. Well they had to lance it and to see them hold my baby down like that I was devastated. But they did what they needed to do then we were out of there (at midnight). Well for pain they gave her tylenol with codine. She was up til 2 a.m jumping all over the house.

Sunday we hung around my mother in laws til we had to take Em back to the ER to make sure everything was looking better. I came into town to get her script filled and get fresh clothes for the 4 of us bc we did not anticipate the sleep over. Finally Emily was sleeping while I was gone, she took a almost 4 hour nap. We cooked a quick lunch and headed back to the ER. They said it looked good and to see the pediatrician asap.

Monday, Nothing to report. Still dragging from the sleep depravation. Tuesday I was working on big deadline for work, got really excited bc the wind farm company had said they would buy a full page ad for the section I was working on. Wednesday, I don't recall anything happening.

Thursday was trying to get the kids to the 5th Dr appointments for the week. Zachary had ear specialists appt. and Emily check up for her knee. My mother in law was coming from her house to get them and take them. Zach didn't make his appointment and Emily went and they said it looked great and they couldn't believe it had gotten that bad. And the full page that the wind farm had shown interest they wanted they said they didn't have enough time for. We had to cut the section down to a 8 page and have to use a different section for our contest piece.

Friday ALL HELL BRAKES LOOSE. I go home and the electricity is off. I was confused I had just paid a huge balance not that long ago. I called they say we owe. I pay. Then I realize I need to pay the gas before the same thing happens. I call they say you were cut off 2 weeks ago I say no I wasn't I was cooking like crazy last night, I just need to get this taken care of. They say ok I will have your local service man call you back. I get home No gas ON FRIDAY they won't come back until Monday, they never called me to tell me anything and then when I called they had nothing to say that was any kind of helpful. Thank goodness we were not going to be home this weekend.

Saturday was the first good day I had in awhile. It was very rushed but good. We had to be at the ball field at 7:30 a.m. for opening ceremony I was suposed to take pictures for work but my office keys went to the nascar races in my truck, so I had to ask for a disk of another ladys pictures. Left from the opening day straight to easter with the in laws who we had a strict schedule bc Zach was playing a game at 2. Still 1 child not there and we had to leave in 3 minutes. we had to start without her, we left her a pretty good section to hunt from though. I felt horrible. She pulled up as soon as we were all piling into the truck to go to the game.
The game was great my son was playing 1st base and he gor 2 kids out the first inning (1 of them being my nephew :( a little bittersweet. ) We were yelling like crazy for them to hit the ball and run run run and then when they did I was yelling like crazy for zach to get on base and get the ball.
As soon as his game was over I walked over to my other neices game. She is also a firey red head. She was playing in the dirt having herself a good ole time but when the ball came she was up and trying to get it before the pitcher did. I was shocked. She didn't really participate in soccer that much but the first game of t-ball she gave me hope that I would not be watching her fuss about playing all season.
Nothing really happened yesterday except I had to clean up 583 glasses of spilled something. But that's my duty I guess.
Today just started and I know it will be great. My son and the great person he is was so sweet. we were all laying there trying to climb out of bed on a cold Monday morning. He hugged his sister and I up and said I love ya'll!!!!! Doesn't take much to brighten a cold day!!
